Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life.
The Aditya Birla Group, a $44.3 billion and a Fortune 500 conglomerate giant has somehow touched and been involved in every persons’ life and I am no exception. Aditya Birla Group products have always been my go-to products throughout my life. It all started with a Pantaloons outlet in Ahmedabad, ‘India’s Most Trusted Apparel Retail Brand’, where I for the first time laid my eyes on a Manchester United jersey which I simply couldn’t refuse to buy. I kept coming back to Pantaloons for buying clothes and eventually my family members too became loyal customers of Pantaloons. As I entered graduation college I was in need of smart casuals, business casuals and there was no better offering than Peter England and Allen Solly. It is often said the way we feel about ourselves while amongst a crowd depends on the way we dress and how we appear. Allen Solly and Peter England’s shirts, trousers and pants made of the finest quality increased my confidence and instilled a sense of pride in me when I wore them. Now, while doing my post-graduation in masters of business administration from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade-Kolkata, I need to carry myself with a proper dressing sense all the time and what better brand than Van Heusen to cater to my needs. Van Heusen blazers, suits and trousers are the quint essentials of a management student like me. The quality of the fabric used, durability and the comfort Van Heusen products provide make me forget about any dressing worries and help me concentrate on my work.
Fashion is not the only place where I have used Aditya Birla Group products. My family and I stay in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. We were constructing our own bungalow and I remember my father and mother seeing a commercial of UltraTech cement on TV. Something about the tagline “The Engineers Choice” intrigued my father. On consulting our contractor and engineer, my father gave nod to use UltraTech cement to construct our bungalow. 15 years later and withstanding 2 earthquakes, it was the best decision made and we never felt much more secured. Not only in the construction of property, but also in the construction of roads, helipads, airports and other public places UltraTech Cement has been used and today if India can boast of growing infrastructure it can also add a feather to its cap of providing a safe and secure infrastructure.
Last but not the least, the first sim card in our family was of Vodafone-Idea ltd formerly called “Idea Cellular network ltd”. My father bought a new phone with an “Idea” sim and that phone was source of entertainment for me. I connected to the internet for the first time using my father’s phone using a 2G network. Since then, technology has rapidly changed and so has Aditya Birla Group thus providing high speed data and connectivity at places where other networks die. My father still uses an idea sim and thus has remained a loyal customer. This just shows the trust and loyalty consumers have towards Aditya Birla Group.
In conclusion, Aditya Birla Group and I have come a long way. The journey so far has been enriching and amazing. There is a long journey planned ahead as well and I can’t wait to embark on it.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far.
During my graduation in my penultimate year, I was diagnosed with pneumonia because of which doctors had advised me to take a 3 month leave from attending college. The end semester examinations were just 3 months away and not attending the end semester examination would have led to a drop year. I faced this challenge of recovering from my health and preparing for the end semester examinations within time. Also, I had to do a group project as a part of the curriculum. I created a road map of how to go about things and handle the situation at hand. I started by improving my health as soon as possible. I also started connecting with my classmates and peers regarding the everyday happenings in class and the lessons being taught. We exchanged notes, course materials, books and important resources like e-books and online lectures. I was in constant contact with the members of my team for the group project and coordinated with them on the project work. My health started to improve steadily but I still wasn’t medically declared fit to attend classes and was advised to avoid crowded places like classrooms and colleges as the disease was a contagious one. I prepared for the examination at home with the help of all possible resources available and for the group project I completed my part of work before time. I passed the semester examination with a score of 75% and our group had successfully completed our project. I realized that the challenges that we face are opportunities awaiting to unlock something new that we have never learnt.
