Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar launched its annual festival ‘
Xpressions’ today. This is the 17th year of the festival at XIMB. It started with a silence but its echoes left the walls ringing. With the rains challenging the spirits, the field launch of ‘Xpressions’ 2014 was completed amidst much enthusiasm. It was followed by the launches of all the game committees, who conduct various events during the annual extravaganza ‘Xpressions’. With this launch the countdown has started for this year’s Eastern India’s biggest B-school festival ‘Xpressions’. A three day extravaganza that take place every year, is a cocktail of innovative games, competitions and cultural events. Participants from various B-schools of India take part in this event.
A 100 DAYS OF EXCITEMENT

XIMB kick-starts its preparations exactly 100 days before the three-day extravaganza with a spectacular launch by the core committee members of Xstec (Xpressions steering committee).The committee along with the student executive council of XIMB declared ‘Xpressions open. On 30
th July, 2014 the Student executive Council in collaboration XSTEC declared Xpressions officially open. Loud cheers filled the auditorium and excitement ran wild amongst the students as the second year students entered the arena with candles as a mark of respect towards the magnanimity of the fest.
Xpressions is host to the largest Business Events across India; Kurukshetra, Gladiator, Helios, Spardha and Skill City. These game committees are almost decades old and hold a legacy to remember. The organizing team of each of each game committee launched their respective games which won the much deserved applaud from the audience.
FIELD LAUNCH: SET FIRE TO THE RAIN
The occasion of the field launch of this festival was marked by a complete black out for 15 minutes. As a run up to Xpressions and to support environmental sustainability & contributing a part to the society, the launch witnessed for the first time ever, a complete shut-down of electricity for 15 minutes throughout the campus. It was a step on behalf of XIMB to extend their support for energy conservation and green initiative.

The coordinators of all the student committees and faculties were present to facilitate this initiative taken by the Student Executive Council of XIMB and Xpressions Steering Committee. It was followed by launching of sky-lantern that lit up the night sky. A sight to behold. It kindled all the spirits and emotions as well. And it manifested the launch of ‘Xpressions’, a legacy that started in 1998, now one of the most respected and looked forward to b-school events in the country.
