The journey of MBA started in 2017 and with a yearlong wait, I finally managed to get into one of the most prestigious institution in the country. With a year full of ups and downs, each disappointment led to new hope and a motivation to work harder for the same. Planning, setting goals (small and big) and working to achieve those goals and learning from each failure has been the strategy that has helped me in this 1 year of my life. I believe that this journey in itself has helped me shape my personality as a whole. Right from the decision to start the preparation for the entrance exams to the final decision of choosing IIM-Rohtak among all the alternatives that I had, this process has been quite a learning experience. Apart from IIM-Rohtak, I had the option to choose amongst all new IIMs, NMIMS, Fore School of Management and IMI- Delhi. As a post-graduate student at IIM-Rohtak, I want to utilize these two years to the best of my abilities and come out as an individual who is not just well versed with the theoretical knowledge but also has the ability to deal with uncertainties. It will enhance my analytical skills, expand my knowledge and familiarize me with a broader range of conceptions which in turn will help me navigating the complexities in the business world. Handling complex situations, adapting in the face of rapidly changing environment, working under time crunch with people of different background will help in an overall development. The learnings from the program will help me in taking sound decisions in my job as well as in my personal life. The learnings from the course and experience from the job will help me in achieving my long term goal of being in the Top Level Management of an organization
I believe in respecting the personal space of an individual and I don’t like people asking me about my personal choices and decisions that I’ve taken in past. I’m a person who takes accountability of all the decisions I take and therefore I don’t like if anyone questions or judges my personal choices and decisions. I believe in always respecting the fine line between personal and professional life decisions.
My ability to get along with people while focusing on getting the job done has helped me deal with several complexities in life. In first semester of college, I was given a class project to perform in a group of 5 people completely new to one another. Since, we didn’t know each other, there was a lack of communication and trust in the group. I stepped in to discuss the task assigned and made sure that all of us work together to deliver the task. I believe in helping others selflessly and that’s how I feel I’m different from others. My ability to do something for others with no or minimal self-motives is what I take pride in. My association with Teach India- a CSR initiative of Times of India was all about working in and out to teach my learners and finally help them get placed in reputed organizations. I act as a pro-active person in most of the situations in my life and that’s how I have been able to achieve my goals in life. However, in adverse situations, I have also adapted the reactive behavior to fight the fire.
