For most of us, getting into consultancy is always a dream career after MBA, however for Akshat, consultancy led his way into MBA. Akshat, one of the youngest in the batch of 75 students in his cohort, was living life with the ideal job role of consulting in PwC, before he made the choice of coming for his MBA at IIM Bangalore.

Spending 6 years in the super specialised and niche field of cyber security at PwC, he was responsible for securing the Biometric and Aadhaar data of 1.2 billion Indians. His sharp business acumen and a personality that is sure to impress translated in him generating new business worth $1M for his firm.

To top that up he even won for a Smart City the Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration, 2021. This was an award that only 0.05% of the applicants got and this made him hugely popular in the firm.

Things were going great, till he chanced upon a project where he was responsible for advising an Industry body on setting up a Start-up Incubation centre in the field of Cyber Security. Anchoring some of the key start-up conclaves and investor pitch events, he found his calling in the Venture Capital and Investing space. Banking on his consulting experience and his inherent genes of being a “baniya”, he decided it was the right time to go for an MBA and understand all there is to business and finance.

After joining EPGP at IIM, Bangalore, he has been an active participant in all finance related conclaves and clubs and has participated in many consulting and finance competitions. Getting experiential Learning on Strategy and Finance from top professors, veterans from the field  is giving him a holistic framework to solve emerging business challenges. Not only the classes, his daily conversations with various students who were or are entrepreneurs or worked with VCs, have given him new insights into the field he wants to pursue. An active investor in the stock markets, he has been managing funds of friends and family for the past 7 years. He plans to open a fund of his own some day and be the top investor of the Private and Public Equity markets one day.
