Since the establishment of the Idea Cellular operations in Chennai , I have been a loyal customer to this network operator.
In spite of its initial hiccups with the connectivity issues around the city, the firm gradually overcame the problem and massively improved its customer base. With 19 crores and odd subscribers on board , it has recently merged with Vodafone India Ltd to capture a bigger market share in the country.
There have been many instances as to why Idea has played a pivotal role in my life. As an Electronics and Communication Engineer , I was on a look out for a solid industry experience during my graduation. I was fortunate enough to land up in Idea Cellular Ltd , Chennai as an intern in the Networking department.
Though I had a short stint there , the experience I had garnered was immense. The knowledge I had acquired helped me work with a lot of academic projects back in college. it gave me a sheer edge over the other students when it came to domain knowledge practicality. It also gave me an upper hand during the campus recruitment and MBA admission processes where I was able to elaborate on my work at Idea Cellular Ltd.
Once during a visit to one of the temples near a village in Tamil Nadu, I recieved a call from the Placement Incharge of my college. He told me that the Senior Executive of a prestigious company that had visited our campus for recruitment , wanted to have a Skype Interview of me that very day . He explained that since I had cleared all the other rounds of the selection proceess, this interview would be the final scrutiny.
I was a little skeptical about the interview as I was not at home and was travelling. At the same time I did not want to let go this great opportunity. So I agreed and the incharge informed the scheduke.
With all things set , I connected to Skype via Idea Network. To my surprise the interview went on smoothly with absolutely no connectivity trouble. Infact that call fetched me a job too.
So IDEA, the vital product of ABG has definitely changed my life!
