Why is Aditya Birla Group big in my life?
Aditya Birla group, since its inception in 1857 has grown to become the third-largest Indian private sector conglomerate with its services in various sectors like banking, cement, fashions, metals and many more. While maintaining quality, the group has successfully established itself across 35 countries with more than 120000 employees.
UltraTech Cement
I was in junior college when the foundation of my new house was laid. Seeing it built brick by brick was so overwhelming. The process of building a house is a very complex and difficult task. But one thing that my father was sure from the beginning was to use Aditya Birla Group’s UltraTech Cement. I was overwhelmed by father’s trust in UltraTech. That day I realised the brand value of ABG and its ability to retain customer loyalty.
Fashion and Retail
I still remember the first day at my office. I was wearing a formal suit for the first time in my life. It was a gift from my mother. It made me feel confident and I could feel my mother’s blessings. The suit was Peter England’s, bought from a pantaloon store, both owned by ABG.
Then last year I could not go home for Rakhi. So, I wanted to gift my sister something unique. One of my friends suggested a site called “Forever 21”. I gifted her a Shoe from the site. She was amazed by their designs and loved them. When I researched the site, to my surprise the online and offline rights in the Indian market is acquired by ABG.
These emotional events somehow kept me bonded to the Aditya Birla Group. ABG, directly and indirectly, was always a part of my life.
How did I overcome challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
During the Third year of my engineering, I was the Secretary of the Techno Management fest of my college. All the preparations for the Fest were going as per the schedule. But a week before the Launch, one of the sponsors backed out due to some external issue, so there was a budget deficit. My team was not able to find a new sponsor at such short notice. The reputation of my collage was on the line. We were asked to handle the issue by a budget cut. But I did not wanted to compromise on any promises made by my team. I had an emergency meeting with my team and came up with a plan to conduct one-day Robotics Workshop for minimum cost at Nearby schools. A core team was formed which included marketing team, training team, and operation team. Within 2 days we tied up with 12 schools to provide Manual Robotics training. For the next 4 days, we had to conduct 3 Workshops per day at different locations. I had to plan and take care of the smooth functioning of the workshop. I had to manage the arrangement of the Fest along with the workshop. In the end, the workshop was a success. This model is still used to raise fund in my collage. It was one of the most intense weeks of my life. I learned a lot about time management and resource management. I realized that sometimes things are not under our control, so it's important to cultivate positive attitude and proactive mindset to approach a problem.
