JK Business School held its first Open Day on 28th March to help management aspirants get a first hand PGDM experience in a day. It is one of a kind initiative for B Schools in the country and JKBS, based in the busy industrial hub of Gurgaon, led the way once again. As the news about the experiential day organized by the institute had spread widely, students from different parts of the country made it to the campus. Given by the numbers it drew, the event was a huge success and set the tone for those to follow on last Saturdays over the next 4 months.

Fresh graduates with man agement dreams find themselves at an important juncture in their lives as they have to choose the right PGDM program and B School for their future. As a management hopeful you want to be absolutely sure about your decision and that can only happen when you have a firsthand experience of what the B School has to offer you. The Open Day organized by JKBS stood out not only because students were given an opportunity to visit the campus, like some of the other institutes do, but they were given the whole immersive experience in a day.

Management aspirants were allowed to live on the campus for 24 hours and experience various PGDM activities so that they have a fair idea of what they are in for, if they choose JKBS. Right from classroom teaching experience with the faculty members to experiencing the hostel life and engaging in different activities; the aspirants could get a taste of what a management student’s life is all about. Hopefuls who had made their way to the campus on the day showed huge enthusiasm and made the most of the activities that were in store for them.

According to Ritesh, one of the aspirants, who was present for the day, “I was absolutely thrilled to get an insight into the student life at the institute. I appreciate the fact that JKBS is offering us this experience, which no other institute does. It will definitely help me make up my mind about picking the right PGDM program.” There were others who relished the opportunity to interact with present students and know about their experiences. The night stay at the hostel was the first time some of the participants had stayed away from home and they enjoyed the experience.

JKBS had left no stone unturned, including a pickup and drop facility, to make it a comfortable experience for the students. Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director, JKBS says, “We are very happy with the response we got and it was heartening to hear that participants felt “at home”. We wanted to create an overall experience for them so that they can make an informed decision about their futures.” Clearly, the renowned institute had pulled it off with great success and given participants of the coming events a lot to look forward to.
