Someone has rightly said “If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone” Internships are those opportunities which are meant to prove this fact and help us grow. It all started way back in September when the placements had just begun. Like every other curious candidate, I was also keen on the kind of role I would be offered. It was tricky deciding what type of Internship I wanted to do as I was confused as to what career path I wanted to take. Probably at that point of time one actually starts getting serious about their career ahead.  When “Anzy Careers” visited the campus for placement, the profile offered by them looked extremely appealing to a lot of people who were looking for some challenging roles and an overall experience. After the rigorous rounds of selection process, I was selected amongst the candidates. It was no less than ecstasy as I got through it efficiently in my initial attempt itself. A bigger challenge was waiting for me as the start-up environment where I was supposed to work was completely different from what I had experienced in my previous work experience with an MNC. However, Challenges are the real learnings. With this thought I made up my mind and adjusted myself to suit best to the environment. Lesson 1: Opportunities always exist; you have to find your own way! First day at internship started with the usual formalities and introductory presentation. The next day onwards journey started growing wild. I already had the apprehension about start-ups of being the most disorganised organisations but to my surprise we already had a project ready to work upon it. So, it all started with this and I figured out my own way to streamline the process within the organization. Soon I became a pro at it. This opportunity made me connect to everyone within the organization and I started finding myself to be a part of “Anzy Careers”. All the heads and dignitaries were really friendly and answered my query, thus making me comfortable. It really worked for me because when you feel connected to the organization and to the work you do, you actually tend to perform better. Lesson 2: Explore! There is a lot hidden. Over the days I kept working on it, but soon realised that my work not only wants me to learn or research but also required me to interact. I ,soon, started with the project of speaking to the existing customers and grow the company’s relationship with them stronger. This gave me a confidence to speak the language of business and to emerge as a responsible employee. My everyday profile included an interaction with a lot of new clients from vivid domains and sectors, adding a lot of experience about the business. Lesson 3: Strive hard to make an everlasting impact The journey was not less than a roller-coaster ride with a plethora of business aspects to explore. However, a stint of 2 months was too less to prove your worth but I made sure I made an everlasting impact. This was possible due to small initiatives taken by me during course of my time there to bring about changes. Everything that was done as part of the project did not only benefitted the organization but helped me to grow as a person. The 8 weeks of internship passed in a flash of seconds but the memories and experiences are for the lifetime. This wouldn’t have been possible had I not been blessed with some of the amazing mentors in the organization. They made my ideas shape and execute. They truly made my internship worth it with their guidance and support. To all those who are yet to experience this phase of their MBA Life, it is truly an amazing learning experience. You are exposed not to the business world but to the practicality of dealing with various odd and even situations. I was happy that my efforts along the 60 days are paid, not just in form of good reviews but also with reinforcing my learnings. As I walked out the Anzy doors I felt a range of emotions, I was happy that I challenged myself and confronted myself to go outside my comfort zone in a world I was not familiar with, but I was sad to be leaving the place that had become my workplace for the last 8 weeks and the employees that had become my friends. There had been tears, anxiousness, happiness and excitement on this journey but I wouldn’t have changed a thing. The connections I’ve made, the advice I’ve been given, and the skills I’ve learnt will never leave me and will definitely shape my future career. I can’t wait to make my mark in the big wide world and I know this experience would help me to achieve this.
