Empathy and farsightedness are two attributes that have craved path of success for many. Being able to feel the pain and situation of others and having a determination to do something about it just to see a hint of smile on the face of others is what humanity is all about. It makes a person a better individual and a great leader. Starting from my childhood I have seen my parents struggling to save every penny they can for a better future of mine and cutting short their needs to fulfill my demands. In all this hustle, one thing that they never forgot to do was investing money for the good of others. I won’t name it as a donation because it holds a far greater value to me and the concerned persons than just donating some money to the needy. They sponsor the education of one or two individuals every year that have a desire to do something for themselves and build a future for their family. I used to celebrate my birthdays amidst the orphans at their care centers and when I used to gift them even a small pack of goodies, seeing the smile on their face made me happier than any other material gift would ever have. I feel proud and mesmerized by the efforts of my parents that I had longed from childhood to do something in this regard for the society. It has been my passion and dream to do something that I can feel satisfied about and that I can count as an intangible asset of mine. I have tried my best to promote education and self help whenever and wherever I can. I used to teach the kids of my house help in my summer vacations and used to go to various Government schools in my city to conduct events that helped kids to get in touch with their creative self. While giving the CAT exam, I used to take classes voluntarily at a nearby coaching center dedicated to teach the needful to prepare for the government job exams, Vocational trainings, and other job interviews. It gave me an immense pleasure to contribute my part for the betterment of this world. I know I can’t change the world alone; I can’t revolutionize the betterment of society but I know for sure that I can do my part and it might cause a ripple in the society. My long-term plans also include creating a market place for the rural artisans, creative people and women to showcase their talents and sell them for their living. There are million out there who know how to make the best taste pickles, best knitted garments, good quality objects from dry grass, bamboos etc. The things we buy from supermarkets and pay heft amounts can be bought directly from these people if given a good platform. Foreigners have seeded their startup ideas by making cutlery from leaves, the practice that is being followed by Indians from generations. The skills have been lost in the cloud of Globalization and running behind the niche, but we must never forget our roots. That is what I eye for as a career in future, to bring this talent in the forefront and hence also make a contribution to the society and the environment. Seeing the efforts of Aditya Birla Group in the CSR activities they conduct, how they empower the women, the weaker section, the gold of our society, the stories of hope they provide, I look up to this organization for the motivation and spark that I’ll always need to be firm about my decision to make a change in the lives of others and leave a mark.
