From praying to get the vaccine at the earliest in 2020, to get the vaccine today was an altogether mixture of different emotions, experiences, and learning.
It started with the announcement last year that Vaccine trial has been started in India, and then we were apprehensive because all the vaccines launched before for use took so many years to prove their effectiveness, and here it was all within a year of outbreak, and then we saw many around us struggling for basic healthcare access, and then we all started looking for vaccine again keeping aside our doubts and questions.
To summarize what I as an individual saw happening with me and around, the few roller-coaster experiences mixture of emotions, experience, and learning-
Prayer: The vaccine should come and should be able to fight and defeat COVID-19 and things should be back to as it was.
Fear: Fear for our known one's wellbeing, long-term implications of taking the vaccine, and what if you don't take it and it becomes scarce in some days.
Adaptability: A new habit of wearing masks, Sanitizers, and social distancing
Excitement: Excitement to start things all over again, with the belief of fighting and defeating COVID-19 with the vaccine
Confusion: With several existing options and others in the pipeline, which one to go for.
And finally, it was, is, and will always be Hope: Hope for a better and stronger tomorrow.
So, it was an experience which in turn reflects what life is and makes your future-ready to face any challenges.
We have in past and obviously in future will come across a situation where we will be praying for something, at the same time fear will hound thinking about the situation of failure, will be confused on the paths we should choose to get what we want from life, be adaptable to the changes around, But what remains with us is Hope. Which keeps us moving, learning, evolving.
Hoping very soon we will be back to pre-COVID similar kind of new normal era, where we relate to each other more strongly, empathetically.
