I would like to share my views on Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail . Pantaloons was started in 1997 in India. Under the label of pantaloons, Aditya Birla Group has been providing apparel complying to the latest Fashion trends and the needs of the Indian market. Pantaloons has always been a one-stop destination for people from all age groups and is considered as a label of trust and quality. With the entry of numerous foreign brands and e-commerce platforms into the country, Pantaloons still maintains the same loyal customer base and following.
Madhura fashion &Lifestyle – Retail store enterprise of ABG is one of the fastest developing clothing retail corporations in the Indian sub-continent. Planet Fashion is one more men’s wear brand started by ABG in 2001 with more than 150 retailers. Their global marketing involves Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England and Louis Philippe. They have around 320+ retail stores worldwide. They acquired online and offline rights for the American brand, Forever 21 in India. With Abof, the group entered into niche Target and selected portfolio in 2015 but then shut down due to non-profitability of e-commerce sector. The ABG Fashion stores also compete with other local and international brands in terms of price. Customers find their products reasonably priced and also to be unmatched in terms of quality.
MY CHALLENGES IN LIFE
One of the toughest challenges I have come across is my first interface with the corporate culture after my under graduation. I’ve been recruited by Accenture in my campus placements. Being from mechanical engineering background, it was all new for me when I first entered Accenture. But that’s where the actual challenge began. Along with getting versed with the technical aspects, getting adaptable to corporate culture was equally challenging.
The beginning days were the toughest where I had to invest my time in learning the tech aspects as they were completely new to me. The training program was like a foreign language which I rarely understood. I had to work on it till I was sure I made a structural approach to get it into my head. Then I successfully completed the training process but then the actual trouble began after I’ve joined the project. Interacting with team leads, teammates, understanding the project deliverables, procedures, rules to be followed, team culture, the work process, interacting with the managers, client interactions, meetings, town halls and the list goes on. Completing the daily targets, reporting to the team leads, planning the activities for the following days and completing the deliverables on time and handing them over to the client was a tedious process which was a nightmare in the beginning. But with continuous efforts and persistent determination, within no time I was completely accustomed to the corporate culture. Subsequently, I’ve made good relationships with my team leads and was able to make good friends at my workplace. Then I’ve started preparing for CAT during my job and cracked it in 2017. After working 9 months at Accenture, I’ve joined IIM Raipur in June 2018 where the challenges eventually increased in magnitude but with the strength I’ve gained in the past, they seem to excite me rather than to scare me.
