My campus is unique because of its culture. Here are few of the heads that I would like to talk about:
- Diversity in terms of students: I got to meet so many students after joining IIM Rohtak, all different on my parameters. Some of the people are freshers while others are having work experience ranging from 6 months to 5 years in some cases. Some are commerce graduates while others are technology geeks. The batch has a representation of more than 20 states. We have people right from Kashmir to those from Kerela, from Mizoram to those from Gujrat. The number of languages I hear in campus makes me inquisitive about the diverse culture of India. We have diversity even in terms of skills: some are pro in tennis, while others are gaming geeks. Some are deeply interested in solving management cases while others are just experts in dramatics and acting.
- Culture: My campus has a culture of rigor and excellence. You can see people working hard in libraries and academic block very late night. There is no difference between day and night in campus. Academic block is as busy at 11 pm as at 11 am. Professors are strict and expect pure professionalism in class. Mornings start from 8:45 am and if you are a second late, the door is shut. Wait, just reaching the class is not enough. You need to be thorough with all the pre readings and case studies allotted for the class beforehand, else again you will be out of class.
- Extra- curricular: Apart from academics, students indulge deeply in a lot co- curricular activities. We have dozens of clubs and committees on campus. Each committee brings with itself a sense of responsibility and accountability. Most of the activities on campus are student driven. We even have a student driven STORE on campus which cater to day to day needs of students. It sells stationery as well as eatables. Then we have dozen of events ranging from Tedx, annual fest Infusion and Marathon
- Fun: Last but not the least the more hard work we do, the harder we party. Apart from freshers and farewell, we celebrate almost all the festivals like Holi, Diwali, Navratra and Janmastami. We have a cultural competition among the four sections of the batch, named War of Sections. We even have a four-day food festival named Eatopia, in which each of the four sections showcase their culinary skills.
