As Oprah Winfrey rightly said and I quote: “Surround yourself with people who are going only to lift you higher.” At IIM Indore, you will find such people in almost everyone.
Everyone here is very ambitious, and this will make you work harder to be your best. I saw many such people here of which I will mention a few of them. One of them is a CA. The best thing about her is not just the domain knowledge she has but the kind of person she is. A person who understands people motivates them and tries to bring out the best in them. I haven’t seen any other person on this campus who can be so professional all the time while working on academic things. At the same time, she is a person who can make everyone feel exuberant with her chirpy nature. A traveller by heart and poet by passion, there’s so much to her which can’t be described in a few words. What takes me 2 hours to complete, she would do that in 20 mins.
A person who doesn’t need to burn the midnight oil and still score the highest in the class. Another one of my favourites is an Engineer. He has five years of work experience, but when you see him, you won’t be able to say that as he is so full of energy all the time. Parkour in the making if I can say, as he loves jumping here and there from heights. He is the best in the whole campus when it comes to presenting things and a team player.
Another one is Raya. Every bit of her is interesting to know about. She has a very strong personality and knows how to get things done quickly which is what one needs to have in a leader. She always comes up with a unique perspective towards everything. She can even lift a dead person with her motivational speech.
Which ABG company would I want to work for and why?
I have been building my profile in Finance as this is something which interests me a lot and where I think I can add value to the organization through my learnings. For the same reason, I would love to be a part of the Aditya Birla Capital Limited and work in any of the subsidiaries under it. If I have to choose one, I would say Aditya Birla SunLife Asset Management Company. I am doing CFA as well which is helping me understand the market and the various financial instruments which can be used to make better investment decisions.
