Life isn't as smooth as a newly paved bitumen road but is more of a bumpy terrain where obstacles are pegged at regular intervals to test the strong, willing and worthy.
One of the challenges I overcame in my life was the fear of public speaking. Freezing in front of a hall full of people was incoherent with what I aspired to do; hence I took it upon myself to be as good as a natural when it came to public speaking.
During my graduation, I was responsible for managing a newly formed College-level football club with 75 odd members from all courses. It came with its challenges and lessons in the form of managing the funds, practice sessions, organizing tournaments, keeping the team high on morale, planning succession and future, etc. I have always believed in the power of people which made my approach to problem-solving very acceptable.
The biggest challenge I faced was when I lost my mother a few years ago. After being taught to never give in to any situation, practice humility and be strong by her, something like this happens and shakes us to our roots. Losing a loved one can never be overcome and they ought not to be, perhaps the only thing one can do is accept it and keep moving forward.
Well, these little-big challenges are what shape us into what we are today. In spite of all the ups and downs, I have always had a strong will and intent to achieve goals in my life. I have consciously seen myself grow in situations I had never thought I’d be in and I am comfortable with the kind of man I am.
As I sit here on the parapet of my hostel balcony, in my Batman boxers and Avengers’ T-shirt that I bought from Pantaloons last month, munching on a snack wrapped in aluminum fresh-wrapp, I believe I have a strong reason to believe that the slabs here were cast using an AB group product as I check the market share of cement industry on my cellphone using a Vodafone-Idea network. The billboard featuring Kangana Ranaut-endorsed brand, LIVA, reminds me of the flagship Grasim Industries Ltd whereas the pitch black road beneath it reminds me of the absolute dominance the group has in carbon black market. By God’s good grace, the need for insurance and asset management hasn’t arrived yet! The latest pop-up on my Facebook says, “Anushree Zile started working at Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL)” which makes me a little envious, to be honest! This is how ubiquitous, dynamic, and innovative a brand, Aditya Birla Group is.
