A) While most of Aditya Birla Group’s metal, insulators, chemical operations are not known publicly, there are several products that register their presence in our lives in a far more exhibiting way. Case in point is the “What an Idea, Sirjee!” –the advert tagline for Idea, Aditya Birla’s telecom arm, has had a massive recall value and sustained relevance in pop culture even after a decade of its debut on electronic and print media. The learning on my life from this product is how it evolved from a small payer in the telecom industry to merge with Vodafone and rule the market This product to me is lesson in strategy, self-improvement and of gumption. Being a consumer, I related to it, not just because I was using it, but also because it inspired me to be better – by reinventing and constantly changing, while I worked to my strength. Idea is just one of the many touchpoints Aditya Birla Group has had in my life. I have also been a consumer – directly or indirectly, of their entire portfolio. From living in a house that probably got its strength from Ultratech cement, to using Freshwrapp foil to take my food since the day I started stepping out. From using the food grown with the help of fertilizers from the group to using business formals from Van Heusen, Allen Solly, to carry that professionally sharp look, my day is peppered with Aditya Birla Group’s products. The group has continuously contributed towards the society, and also in several ways to my personality. I not only look up to the group as a consumer but hope to be apart of it as a contributor one day.   B) As Barack Obama said, “We’re the only ones we’ve been waiting for”. Now I can happily parrotthis to anyone who would listen to me that we indeed are our best superpower. Growing up, I had an aversion to public speaking, and I counted that as my weakness. A desire change that triggered when I heard Tyrion Lannister, a character from Game of Thrones, say “Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.” I remember hearing that dialogue and telling myself that not only do I only have to face my fears but overcome them as well. This one incident juxtaposes the sense of an ending of a doubt, combined with spurs of invigorating energies to take up new challenges.  It all started when I had participated in a debate competition only to get cold feet at the very last moment. I went blank and looking at the audience waiting for me to speak wasn’t a beautiful sight either. So, I left the stage without competing. However, giving up wasn’t an option.  Resolved to change this, I became member of my college’s street play society and later, organizer of the Commerce Fest of my college. Not only I overcame my fears and set a benchmark for myself, I also added skills of efficient organization which continued to be my strength as I conducted several employee engagement activities at my workplace. Currently, I am pursuing my MBA in HR from IIM Ranchi. Now I am a crow and the flight shall always be high up in the sky.
