It was 27 years ago when my parents tied the knot. The moment my mother took a step to our newly built house, she devoted herself to take care of the lovely family. That house became a home when the newlywed couple gave birth to their first girl child. This home is now a collection of memory that holds the 27 years of legacy and more. We thank our grandfather for their gratitude and my grandfather thanks UltraTech Cement to help to build the mini heaven for his children.

Mother responsibility multiplied when her children started going to school. In my school, I was always an introvert student but famous for the delicious food that my mother used to cook for me. The moment Freshwrapp was removed from the mouthwatering parathas, half of the folk used to come to have lunch with me. Which resulted that I made many all-weather friends for life. Teen and School life over, it was the starting of a phase “the twenties”.  Once I got to own my own in undergraduate, then I realized I was a fashion disaster. All was okay until it was a day of freshers. I planned to wear my old dress but hesitating as all other girls planning to wear much more trendy. Then I decided, I need to get out of my comfort zone and wear something classy. I went to the Mall and visited the first shop having the brand name “Van Heusen”.  That sleek dress of black and blue made me steal the thunder of all. After that I never looked back to unbranded clothes, Shops like Pantaloons, Forever 21, Ted Baker were the new favorite. An attire not only helps to look presentable but also give confidence that reflects the outer self.  Now at 23, when I joined IIFT to start a new phase of life. ABG didn’t fail my expectations. When I was not able to find a decent "formals" for me, Allen Solly came to my rescue. With the perfect mix of quality, texture, color, and price. The formals helped me to introduce myself confidently on my first day at B-school.  I wish to stay connected with ABG in the twenties and forever.

How I Overcame Challenges?

Communication is a key, but what if it is a weakness. For a vehicle to move, it is important that all its parts are well fitted and oiled. Being raised in a middle-class family, it is the desire of the parents that their child gets good marks in class and get 90 plus in boards. So despite being a  bright and a topper student, I lacked communication skills that I was never comfortable in speaking or writing confidently in English.

Things were not bad until high school but became worse in undergraduate. When you meet people with diverse backgrounds but lack of speaking skills made you feel excluded in a group. Whenever I had to give presentations or need to write something, I just used to find ways to escape that. But one day I was given a topic randomly but couldn’t able to express my views in the language in which I was not comfortable. That was the moment for me, It was the day I decided to gear up and rebuild myself.

I gathered all the stuff which could help me to get in tune with the English language. It was December 2013, When I read my first novel in life. Once I started habitual to it, I realized what went wrong. In childhood, I was never able to love the language. Now, by burning the midnight oil in novels, newspapers, grammar, word meaning, motivational speaker, the language is not a barrier to me. Apart from speaking, I started writing as well. I interned at as a travel blogger and afterward worked as a full-time content writer for 14 months.

There are many who must have gone through it. It’s okay English is never a mother tongue to us. But to live in the competitive world today, it is better to prepare yourself for the things that can hinder your progress. So, never undermine yourself, don’t break down ever. It just requires a little push. You are born to change not to stop. Learn new every day and you will see multifold changes in yourself.
