As a child, I loved playing make-belief wars in the sand, used for building houses. Adjacent to the sand were huge sacks of
Ultra-tech cement, that were our shields in the wars we fought. I was fifteen and loved talking on the phone, I remember talking to my best friend for hours and hours on a small phone using
IDEA SIM. In college, I was a day scholar and my mother’s aalo paranthas were famous among the hostellers. The
Freshpakk aluminium foil kept those paranthas hot till lunchtime. I had to face my first interview for placements and wanted to look my best in the interview. The first brand that came to my mind was
Van Heusen.
‘The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment’ ~ Tony Robbins
The Sacks of ultra tech cement, the sim that connects us to the world, the foil that keeps our food hot, the clothes that make us feel confident about ourselves, are part of one big conglomerate. It is fascinating how the Aditya Birla Group is omnipresent. Unknowingly or knowingly, our memories revolve around ABGL. From grocery shopping to shopping for clothes, from providing us network connection to building our houses, ABGL has impacted our lives in innumerable ways. I was discussing with my father the influence of ABGL in our lives, that how it is present in every sphere of our lives. He told me that he had invested in
Aditya Birla Group mutual funds, and with that investment I am studying in one of the best B-schools in the country.
‘If your action inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader’ ~ John Quincy Adams
Aditya Birla Group is a leader in every sphere and it inspires others to do the same. I had always been a follower, a person good at following instructions but never got a chance to explore the leader in me until I got to conduct a session in our college with well-renowned author Amish Tripathi. He was in Chandigarh, for a literary fest and I had contacted Mr. Amish Tripathi for another event next week. He mailed us and asked if we could conduct an interactive session at our university. I was hesitant to conduct a session, as I had never done anything on my own and we had just two days to prepare for everything. But something in me pushed me. So, I made a team of 4 people and divided the work amongst us. In two days, we made posters, hung them everywhere in the university, published it on our Facebook profiles, different pages. We arranged an auditorium, mikes, mementos, a still for his books. On the day of the event, I was anxious if we’ll get a proper audience or if it would be an interesting session. But as the clock struck 12 and the session was about to start, I could hardly see a vacant seat and the session was interactive. Mr. Amish was discussing his books and students were asking him about his views on mythology and not about his paycheck.
Seeing the event being successful and more importantly, people enjoying something that you created gave me immense pleasure, feeling that knew no bounds of happiness.
I am taking myself to the world with one small initiative at a time.
