What makes our campus Unique?
One thing which makes us stand out from the rest is that WE, the students of IIMU solely run the campus with utmost pride and honor. It is a student-driven campus, where the administration does play a role but only to some extent. Most of the activities are managed and organized by students. Every student related decision involves our opinions and suggestions. The Council of Student Affairs plays a very important role in governing the activities on campus. Our hostels do not have wardens because we strongly believe that management is all about knowing and dealing with people. And so we practice people management every day and night in our hostels. Most of the issues are resolved by the student bodies. Even during medical emergencies, the Council of Student Affairs looks after everything, at any time of the day/night.
Uniqueness of our campus is that we are building “U” together, and this campus is going to be the sole witness of our efforts till eternity.
A memorable classroom experience in our B-school
We have ace faculties on campus, and they leave no stone unturned in making each day fruitful for us. And what makes it even more special is the diversified batch that we have.
Diversified learning: Faculties act more as a facilitator within the classroom. They give us enough opportunities to have insightful discussions, sometimes debate between different groups within a section
Role plays: Case studies can be understood well by adding a factor of empathy to it. Many of the times, the groups have to come up with a script of role play for the case studies which includes presenting the whole scenario and at the end providing the solution to the problem. This also helps in developing a habit of being comfortable in front of the audience.
Peer learning: Peer learning is not limited to a certain number of students; here we are given enough opportunities to interact with everyone. Every trimester we see a change in the seating arrangement so that we get to sit and interact with a new bunch of people. Also, there’s a change in group members allocation every trimester which again is to foster the learning experience within the classroom.
Meet Our Crazy Batch-Mates:
Vaishali Ranolia- KPop Fan
She has an immense love for KPop which can be clearly seen through her actions. She recently hosted a few travellers who came to visit Udaipur all the way from Korea. She connected with them through an online platform and then offered to be their guide and also accompany them while visiting Udaipur. The travellers also visited the campus and because of Vaishali’s constant efforts, we also got a chance to interact with all of them and talk about different cultures and specially KPop. This is a great initiative when it comes to exchanging of cultures and ideas.
Digvijay Chauhan- A Traveller
Digvijay is a fighter, who is fighting for his dreams and is making sure that his passion reaches out to everyone out there. Coming to IIMU has been one of the best decisions of his life. Our institute strongly believes in helping students follow their passion. And so, with a stroke of serendipity and hard work this talented young guy is all set to amaze people with his two minutes escape videos of the most exotic places of the world, and our college has funded his venture. His idea is to give people a real-time experience of being in a country with the help of a two-minute video. His venture is uber cool, just like him.
Where would I like to work?
Aditya Birla Chemicals (Thailand) Limited
I have done my Btech in chemical engineering from IIT Roorkee and now pursuing an MBA in marketing from IIM Udaipur. I have done an internship with Indian Oil which was mainly about researching specifications of aviation turbine fuel. Also, I have worked with digital marketing and branding team of Exide Life Insurance recently as a part of my internship. I believe my combined experience of chemical industry and my knowledge of branding would help me bring in a global and more insightful perspective towards adding a value to Aditya Birla Chemicals. Qualitative and quantitative skills are a must to have in today’s competitive world, and a relevant combined knowledge of engineering plus management helps us deliver both to the best possible extent.
