One of the fields in which ABG has contributed immensely is infrastructure. Ultratech Cement is the largest cement producer in India. I still remember my childhood days, when I used to play around under-construction houses and get awestruck with all the construction activities going on. The huge pile of Ultratech cement would stand out among the construction materials. It always fascinated me to see the mortar settle down on slabs and build the foundation of a larger entity.
Ultratech has helped lay foundations of many such infrastructure projects and with a consolidated capacity of more than 100 Million Tonnes Per Annum, it has a strong presence not only in India but also in international markets.
Another aspect of our day to day activities that ABG touches upon is through Birla Carbon. It is the world leader in the supply of carbon black additives which caters to the needs of companies associated with tire, rubber, paint, ink, plastic, etc. Personally, this segment has touched my life the most. Ranging from reinforcing my bike’s tyres to providing high-grade pigment to enhance the bike’s aesthetics, Birla carbon has always played a big role in impacting my life.
The metals flagship company of ABG, Hindalco Industries Ltd. services key industry sectors such as automotive, construction, electrical, consumer durables, etc. A large share of the copper requirement of Indian Railways is fulfilled by Birla Copper. Then we have India’s largest fashion network in the form of ABFRL (Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited), having two fashion icons, Madhura Fashion and Pantaloons under its umbrella. Most of the trusted brands like Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, etc. which I personally trust and buy products of, are all the contributions of ABFRL in our lives.
The Group’s radical shift from being architects of a global India to a powerhouse across the globe & various sectors has now led to the understanding of how ABG is a big part of peoples’ lives at every step. On a personal level, I can surely vouch for ABG as I have been a huge benefactor of most of their products in some or the other way. To describe ABG’s presence in my life to be BIG would be an understatement. It’s HUGE!
