Should I join the job or should I join an MBA college? What if the future prospects of a fresher in an MBA college are not good? Is paying 20 lakh rupees worth it? What if I don’t get a high salary job? With this question in mind, I joined one of the premier B-schools of India- XIMB. It has only been 20 days over here and I have already learned a big lesson in life that there is more to life than jobs with high salaries. In this 20 days of a very tight schedule, I experienced a moment which I will not be able to forget throughout my life.
My first class of marketing management 1………
And the faculty describes the importance of marketing for an organisation, quotes by some scholars, 4P’S of marketing. 4C’S of marketing and till then it seemed like a normal class to me where a subject’s importance was being elucidated to you by means of theory. And then the faculty asks, does anyone remember the Samsung galaxy 7 fiasco in 2016-17? And everyone replied yes. Even I had read reports about phones blasting and Samsung being criticized. Then she asked that does anyone have an idea that how did Samsung come out of this period and sustained its position as one of the market leaders? And obviously, we all were clueless. She described that this is what marketing can do and then she showed a video of Samsung post this fiasco. It was an advertisement of the Samsung service vans, a 4-minute video titled ‘Beh chala’. And after the video ended I was awestruck and I had goosebumps. The video tried to connect with the sentiments and emotions of the customers. It tried to highlight the fact that their customers are the most important asset for them. And I realised how big an impact a small 4-minute thing can create.
This experience of mine will stay on with me forever. My first class of marketing management…………..
WHICH COMPANY OF ABG GROUP?
I have always had a bias in my mind regarding
Hindalco industries. The main reason being that my father was a part of it for more than 7 years. And though my father has worked in almost every big organisation of India his good memories from this group is what I come to hear more about. I have heard stories about Mr. Debu Bhattacharya (The then MD of Hindalco industries), and though I have never met him but have always been a fan of him. So maybe due to these things I would prefer Hindalco over other ABG company.
