Exactly a year ago, I came to this college filled with a lot of hopes, aspirations and full of anxiousness that how an IIM which recently moved to its permanent campus with new teachers is going to be. But, after a year I can definitely say with confidence that every bit my of anxiousness about the college is gone and I am proud of “My Unique IIMU”.
IIMU stands different from other all other top B Schools particularly based on 4 parameters:
- Campus: - Surrounded by Aravali Hills, our campus is being built on 330 acres of land and has a great picturesque view. Particularly during the rainy season, the hills are full of beautiful fauna that adds to the beauty of the campus. Being in Udaipur “City of Lakes” our campus would also be having 6 lakes. Any aspirants who will come to IIMU can never stop him from falling in love with our campus.
- Pedagogy: - I am particularly impressed by the quality of teachers and methodology adopted by them. We use a lot of modern techniques like simulation games, group skits, group activities, games to teach students so they can remember the concept throughout their life unlike conventional lecture-based and only case-based teaching methodology.
- Leadership: - One thing I have learnt during MBA is great institutes or firm or organizations are not built based on great resources or great infrastructure, they are built from the right guidance and the right leadership. Prof. Janat Shah whose tenure as IIMU director has been extended by another 5 years is one of the greatest men I ever met in my life. His lifestyle is very simple and is very down to earth. He is guiding the success of our college very carefully in the right direction. He is very easily approachable, can be found having lunch with students in our Mess and keeps on motivating and pushing IIMU students like his own child.
- Culture: - Being a new IIM here students has full freedom and opportunity to start new ideas within campus from the scratch. Any good entrepreneur/manager should know how to give colours and picture to his idea. A new IIM provides this unique opportunity to set up a new modern culture with unique learning opportunities within our campus
- Research focus: - Our college has a specific provision that the teachers are allowed to spend certain fixed hours of their time in research work only which they publish in international journals. The research helps the teachers to be updated with the latest trend in each domain and improve what they teach to the students.
