Bangalore, Karnataka, August 4th, 2014: Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Bengaluru has just concluded UTOPIA – The Annual International Students Cultural Fest 2014 on the 2nd August 2014 (Saturday). The Event has been a witness to participation from over 500 International Students with hailing from over 20 countries that are spread across 5 continents.   Armed with a theme ‘Heroes- Unleash the Unbelievable You! Utopia 2014 struck a chord that inspires a dream. SIBM Bengaluru was decked with instillations of heroes. The campus was colored with the essence of the event as it stood adorned in the reminiscence of our inspirations. A Spider Web at the front gate, Batman guarding the auditorium and the students wearing their custom made UTOPIA t-shirts tinted the college in a hue that reminded us of fantasies that never grow old and fables that have no boundaries.   The Events commenced with the “Lighting of the lamp” by the Chief Guest Mili Chadha of UT Starcom, the Director of SIBM Bengaluru Dr. Rajesh Panda, Deputy Director Dr.V.V Ajith Kumar, and Prof. V.G Venkatesh who is the Faculty Mentor of the International Relations Committee that hosted the event. With the declaration of the event opening by the Chief Guest SIBM, Bengaluru erupted, and so commenced the grandeur.   “Happy Feet” was the name of the dance competition and happily they danced. Students from varied countries swayed and moved to the tunes of nations far and wide. From the melody of Sri Lanka to the peppy numbers of Nigeria, the audience were amazed and enthralled by the confluence of the world around them. T John’s College was the winner of this competition judged by Sarita who is a professional Master of Ceremonies (MC).   After the dance came the fashion show “Panache” judged by Neeta Dutta head of the women’s and kid’s wear category of bhane.com. Dressed in costumes that could encompass the emotions of the whole world, the teams flaunted their designs with true swank and verve. Sambhram College captured the top spot with their “Techno” theme.   The flavors of the world were brought under a single roof by UTOPIA 2014.
