IIM U is one of the very few institutions in the country which is based on a unique value system. It is one of the premier institutes in the country which focuses on academic excellence and entrepreneurship. This is reflected right from the start that is the day one of the orientation. IIM U provides with facilities like our very own incubation center which is a great achievement since it is a new institute. There are flexible opportunities for students interested in entrepreneurship like assistance in procuring funding and capital. Another aspect which is very unique to IIM U is the rural immersion program, where we spend a week in a village and work closely with NGO’s and people to understand ground realities and provide innovative solutions for their problems. We also do pro bono projects through the consulting club like marketing campaigns, preparing optimization plans that contribute to the social responsibility which is one of the core values. The social responsibility club Prayatna takes up projects like Udaan and mentorship projects for high school students from underprivileged sections. IIM U is also a partner of CSR ranking which ranks companies based on their CSR engagement. There are programs like corporate immersion, international immersion, student exchange program which though not unique to IIM U but are an important aspect in a b-school. Our campus situated in the Aravali hills is a picturesque location which gives a sense of freshness every day. A peek through our windows gives a good view of the valleys and hills of the Aravalis. The campus is a green campus and also a blend of the culture of Udaipur city which is evident from the lakes and fort kind of structures in the campus. I believe there is no institute in the country where the starting floor is the sixth floor and we have to go down for the academic activities.
The institute is driven by the vision and mission values initiated by our Director Janat Shah who has laid a long-term plan to make IIM U the best management institute in the country and the whole IIM U works towards achieving this by going beyond their capabilities and transforming themselves in the process.
Which ABG company I would like to work for?
I would like to be a part of Aditya Birla Capital. It is due to my interest in the financial services sector and also the reputation of the Aditya Birla Group. Although I do not have any prior experience in financial services, I am very interested in it and I would put all my effort in realizing the potential required in financial services. Aditya Birla Capital which is ranked among the top 5 fund managers in the country will give me an excellent platform for my career in financial services.
