Idea, Pantaloons, Van Heusen , Allen Solly, Peter England , Ultratech cement these are some of the brands that I have been hearing about all throughout my life. Personally Peter England , pantaloons, idea and ultra tech cement have been a part of my life. I still remember idea was my very first 3g sim for my very first phone that had been purchased for me, before that I was given used phones either of my parents or my sister and I still use that old number. And who can forget the great initiative campaign by the Idea group - “ walk when you talk” and “education for all” and the melodious tune of idea cellular , it was like music to ears. Whenever there is some formal occasion the first brand that comes to my mind is Peter England . Most of my closet is filled by peter England tags and same can be said for Pantaloons when it comes to casual and street fashion. Pantaloons is a one stop destination where you can choose from plethora of varieties – and the best part is its low cost coupled with premium quality. It contains ranges from sports wear to ethnic wear to plus size fits and what not. An lastly Ultratech cement ,who can forget famous dialogues : “Bade Irade me jaan dalde”,’karo nirmaan khoobsurti ka”,“chalo India banaye” . To this product I have been closely acquainted because during my house construction , the only cement that contractor wanted was Ultratech cement. I once asked him why only this cement, there are other brands also , so jokingly he use to reply- “kyunki iss cement me jaan h “. Because of these memories and obviously because of Adtya Birla group brand, I want to be a part of it.
Getting into SIBM PUNE was one of the hardest challenge for me . This was my 2nd attempt for snap and I got the same percentile as last one. With around 99% in my first attempt I couldn’t get into this hilltop heaven. I was completely dejected after getting rejected from the merit list and not getting admission anywhere else also. With two joining letters in hand after graduation , I had to opt for one of them. But I think it was a blessing in disguise and I opted to work in a startup instead of working in a leading IT company as graduate engineer trainer. I choose to work in a startup working in water conservation as a quality manager. I was really excited to start in a role that worked so closely with environment conservation and contributed to such a meaningful cause. After working in that position for sometime I was promoted to operations manager. My roles was to manage supply chain and quality management. But with time I realized that the opportunity to grow professionally wasn’t there . I didn’t see a good route to professional growth for me. With the aim of playing a more important role as a business manager , I want to pursue MBA. So I again started with my mba preparation but this time with a clear goal that is why I aspire to be an mba graduate. And with clear aim in my head I started my preparation and finally got into this “hill top heaven”.
