We take this mantle throughout our lives in various different guises, that is how one is moulded into becoming a leader. Not everyone is born a leader. It is through a patient learning of a subset of skills and behaviors that need to be learnt, considered, practiced and developed as many theories have demonstrated. That is my belief after going through a phase of failure. After in spite of having good scores, not being selected time and time again. Till now, life has indeed shown me the bottom of the ocean.
The mood elevating highlight of my life at all such times has been shopping for classy clothes to feel good and talking to people who are family on phone and Whatsapp. When I saw this module, of talking about the influence of the Aditya Birla Group on my life, the first few things that came to mind were clothing brands like Allen Solly and Forever21. My sister is a huge fan of brands under the Aditya Birla Group, and especially loves visiting Pantaloons. Following her, all her friends, have become huge fans of the clothes manufactured by the Aditya Birla Group. I fondly remember waiting with my younger cousin sister, Kashish, in a queue, at the opening of the first Forever 21 store in Ahmedabad. When I came to know that all the brands we consider as ‘staples’ with respect to clothes, be it Peter England or Van Heusen, are under the Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), I was quite stunned. Even the blazers and shirts which I later brought for my MBA at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade are an Aditya Birla Group brand.
The Idea 4G network belongs to Aditya Birla Group, without which my communication with my parents, friends and cousins wouldn’t be as fast and efficient. My friends’ mother is a doctor in the network of Aditya Birla Capital Health Insurance, which provides world class services to their them, both those who work in their companies as well as those who don’t. The famous Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, now an institute of eminence, is situated in the place of origin of the Birla’s was my dream college growing up.
I am sure that if I dig deeper into the daily things that I use, the aluminium wrap, the cement used to build my home, the clothes I wear everyday, Aditya Birla Group would be having an integral presence in my life.
Pantaloons was the topmost used place by me when in Ahmedabad, reminding me of the Global presence of the Aditya Birla Group of companies. Seeing them flourish over the years, slowly and steadily, even I am inspired to do better, and to be better. I am inspired to heave myself up on the struggles that I have gone through, the challenges I have faced, and to keep on doing the best I can to overcome them, to keep looking ahead. I have learnt that success comes to those who fail but cease to give up, and it is a lifelong process of progress and growth, with much left for me still to learn and with much of me still left to blossom.
