Genuineness (G) is one of the strands in the DNA of ABG with which they changed the emphasis to giving, instead of taking. It’s just not me but the society at large is loyal to ABG for their customer-centric products where they add value and satisfaction. Be it the Ultratech Cement with which my house was built, be it Idea-Vodafone which I’m using it right now for the mobile data or Van Heusen Suit which I wore for the 1st time to my IIM Inauguration. Unknowingly, ABG is part of our day to day activities with products like Carbon Black, Insulators, and Mining, etc. Also, the CSR activities at Aditya Birla Group aim to make a difference in sectors like education, healthcare, livelihood programs, etc. I met people who benefitted with the CSR activities of ABG like medical camps, artificial limbs for people with disabilities, proper drinking water facilities, and skill development.
#Challenge
Being good at academics made my chances look bleak for the post of Chairman-IEEE-SPS-GITAM during the final year of under graduation. The notion was that a person with such a position of immense responsibility would require to prioritize his activities related to student body over academics. It was a really tough time for me to persuade the selection panel and senior reps to consider and support my candidature. After having won the election and trust of the panel, the year ahead appeared to be a double-edged sword for me to navigate. The expectations of the student body related to allied activities and academic performance during the said period were met on a high note which is again no common feat. Having lead the team to organize multiple events, seminars, presentations at the national level and also have achieved a cumulative GPA of 9.1 out of 10 simultaneously, instilled in me the confidence to reach greater heights. These events made me acquire the ability to multitask and comfortably move out of my comfort zone.
