My life has been a roller coaster ride so far. I have faced a lot of ups and downs in my journey. But the one thing which has helped me throughout my sojourn is the ability to believe in myself, no matter what circumstances I find myself in. I am a firm believer in hard work and perseverance and feel that any challenge can be overcome, given that you are ready to devote yourselves completely to the task at hand. During my class 10th, along with the final Board examinations, I even had a major Tabla certification exam. So along with academics, I had to devote my time equally for Tabla practice. It was a great challenge for me as I had aspirations of securing good ranks in both the examinations. So, to overcome this challenge, I started sacrificing all the pleasurable day to day activities such as watching TV, playing games, etc. and most importantly, a good night’s sleep. Along with sacrificing these things, I also indulged myself in mindfulness activities such as deep meditation and breathing exercises, which helped me immensely to cope up with physical and mental stress. Finally, after some gruesome months, I was able to overcome my biggest challenge and come out with flying colours by securing the first rank in Tabla exam and the 3rd rank in School exams. Since then, I have faced many such similar challenges in my due course of life. But having overcome such challenges before, I can trust my instincts now and try to face the challenges with equal grit and determination. So, in the end, what is important is that you should never give up on your ambitions and dreams even in times of adversity. Even if you are on the verge of defeat, just believe in yourself to go that extra mile and face challenges upfront. Once you are through the grill, you will emerge out as a better individual and will be able to take on any role in life with ease. On a concluding note, what do you say to defeat on its face? “NOT TODAY!”
