After going through rigorous 1 year of battles of stress and anxiety, you finally land into a B-school. With so many questions in your head, you enter the red walls of the campus. Each one entering the campus has different expectations, some think the journey has started, some think that their struggles have come to an end and now all they want to do is relax, some aspire to be the next CEOs, CXOs, CFOs and some are just as lost as a bee in search of honey.
The start:
The most difficult part in starting some new is the beginning
B-school is no exception. In the start, the constant pressure of managing academics along with millions of other ongoing things – committee and club selections, internship preparation, CV reviews, quizzes, assignments, projects and exams, all this in 1st semester when you are just adjusting to the culture. Sounds scary...well it is (I won’t lie)!!
So, how do we manage this?
In B-school, friends, peers, seniors are not just networks. They become your rescuers and saviours. At every moment of your life, whenever you feel alone there, there will be someone constantly holding your hand and guiding you. You just need to find the right set of people (your octopuses who will always hold your hand and never leave in dark times). Take help whenever you feel you are stuck. The best part about B-school is..Ask for it and you will get it!
What is the pressure in B-School like?
Endless pressure and if at any day you feel there is nothing to do and when you are completing relaxing and playing poker with your friends, you will find a mail from professor telling you about a quiz, an assignment or a due project.
Every month, you will have exams till you get used to it and every week, there will be a quiz tormenting you at 8.45 a.m. which some of you will surely miss.
So, why be in a B-school?
Where will you get a pool of endless opportunities? You can be whatever you want to be. You can do whatever you want to do. It just takes the drive, motivation and inspiration to do that. You want to do a live project, go ahead. You want to write a research paper, go ahead. You want to crack case competitions, go for it. You want to just enjoy and relax and completely be just a party person, no problem in it too. It just takes for you to realise what is that you want in life and you can have it. Will you ever get such a life again? No, the time you spend with your friends there or if I may call your family. You get a home away from another home.

Come with an open mind. Don’t get perplexed or distracted by what others are doing.

Enjoy the journey, bad phases will come but so will, the good phases. Always be on the lookout for opportunities and you will nail it!!
