Aditya Birla Group was founded in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. The group
which has interests in viscose staple fibre, metals, cement, branded apparel,
carbonblack, telecom, BPO and IT services has contributed in most of the people’s
(including me) lives through one or the other way (brands/products used).
When it comes to my personal experience of using ABG’s products, I have been
using Allen Solly, Peter England and Van Heusen apparel since long time and
continue to do so. I had always trusted the quality of clothes they have brought in
and never had a second opinion while choosing them. Also, during my stay in
Bangalore my go to option to purchase any clothes was Pantaloons. They have a
huge collection of brands at one place which would actually help people not to go
to different stores but stop at a single place and shop. The expansion of brands in
various places/cities throughout the country is commendable. They are also playing
a key role in telecom connectivity through Vodafone-Idea network. Their role in
the ever-changing scenery of Indian cities is not prominent but ever-present
through Ultratech cement.
The company which values around $44.3 billion has taken a huge responsibility
and made our country reach new heights. Beyond business, the work they do such
as providing merit scholarships to 24,000 children, mid-day meals to 74,000
children through Akshaya Patra and working in 5000 villages globally should be
well appreciated. In short, they represent the drive of the masses and showcase
how an MBA candidate like me can make a mark in any field they take on.
