Known for its quality and performance the Aditya Birla Group, the four-generation family empire has been the building block of India for more than a century now.  The Aditya Birla Group is a multinational conglomerate with a range of businesses across the world in wide ranging sectors from cement, metals, carbon black, insulators, chemicals, fertilizers, fibres and textiles, branded apparels and retails to financial services, business solutions and telecom. ABG is big in my life due to its business in Fashion and Retail. I consider myself to be creative and innovative. I even like doing fashion illustrations for women. I usually prefer clothes with different patterns and unique designs. Fashion for me is a way to express myself. It’s like challenging yourself to get out of the comfort zone to try new things. Fashion is how I give myself confidence, because I always feel better when I look my best and feel my best. ABG has different segments of fashion brands like Louis Philippe which follows the global fashion and mostly in the costlier section, Van Heusen for professional outlook, Allen Solly and Peter England targets the trends in formal wear mostly for daily office usage and Forever 21 has the trendiest clothing designs. Apart from these they also own Pantaloons which is mostly for casual wear. So, all these brands have been a part and parcel of my daily life. Moreover, ABG is a customer centric organization. It gives importance to the customer value, customer experience and customer lifecycle. This shows that they understand and connect with people more efficiently. Thus, ABG with its presence in all other products and services has been a big part of my life. How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far? During my third year of college I was selected for doing my Summer Internship at Dell, Bangalore for a period of three months. For my project I was assigned a buddy who was from Brazil and my mentor was from US. I was assigned a project on SharePoint in which I had no experience. So, I had to connect with my buddy and my mentor for all the requirements. But it was a huge problem for me as it was done mostly in a telephonic conversation and moreover time zones were different. India was 8 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Brazil and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead of US. So, I had to coordinate with both the time zones to understand what exactly that expected from me. I first created the website in my local and then I wanted to shift it to the SharePoint platform. Since I didn’t have much idea regarding the functionality of SharePoint it became a problem as the code didn’t support for the SharePoint platform. I had already invested two months for this and I was left with just one month. I didn’t lose hope. How I overcame this challenge was by being optimistic and I prioritized my work so as to meet the deadlines. I started contacting people on my floor. I got to know about one of the members who could help me here at Dell Bangalore. I contacted him and tried to learn as much as I can regarding designing a website on SharePoint. I faced a lot of challenge in gaining a command over the language. Though I had a lot of sleepless nights during the period, I still cherish the memories as it gave me a good experience of handling tough situations and had a great learning experience. After putting in a lot of efforts I finally had something to show up for my final presentation. It went well and I was awarded with a PPO after that. These challenges made me strong and improved my self-confidence. #ABGLP#ABGWOOMESEASON2#ABGLPWOOMECOMPETITION#ABGLPWOOMESEASON2XIMB-XAHR#XIMB-XAHR
