Aditya Birla Group, one of the oldest conglomerates of our country. Such rich history and values it shared within Indian corporate world. When I talk about this group, first thing that came into my mind is Ultratech cement. One of growing cement brands with largest manufactures of grey cement. From the time when Indian economy opened up to various foreign brands and need for strong infrastructural growth is supported by this brand. I have seen big infrastructural projects, dams and public offices built from it. I have seen face of a city being completely changed via huge concrete buildings and projects. Another brand, Pantaloons retail. Though is served near slightly upper strata of middle class, quality and design of its product is always in among group. Such a huge retail clothing giant was once called ‘Mark and Spenser’ of India. It was Acquired from future group for strategic purposes, completed via leading it into more successful openings into various cities. Another brand that comes is Vodafone Idea limited, before when two brands ‘Vodafone’ and ‘Idea’ were competitors and ready for eat each other profits. That was time when Idea brand had built its name among Indian consumer class. Reliable and cost-effective services is something it is was hugely known for. From telecom to infrastructure, Aditya Birla Group has not only diversified its corporate brands, it has also developed that brands into one of the biggest serving and growing brand of Indian economy.
Starting from simple average college engineering student, I had never dreamt that I would be studying in IIM Kashipur, India’s one of the leading educational Institute. While preparing for CAT to scoring 98+ %lie into exam while part time working side ways was not easy job. I have worked part time since beginning of my college years, during my preparation too I was working for part time and during last 4 months of exams, I somehow managed to score decent into my CAT examination. During GD-PI round preparation was another obstacle for me as coming from Gujrati medium education, I had trouble with my English, I had to practice it repeatedly with many embarrassing incidents among friends and other people, hard way I developed a decent English-speaking skill. Though, I would not say only English will get you converted into top B-schools but it surely is one of the deciding factors. What I have learnt before MBA was that as MBA, I will have to sell myself, I need excellent communication and persuading skill on my side. I will also have to face many difficulties in learning various commerce related subjects which are not forte. Though it seems easy to unexperienced eyes, on a personal level it is associated with massive structural change within one’s personality and the way he/she looks into future. As MBA, you are taught that you need to develop vast skills proficiently rather than focusing on single skill.
