Part B
I’m a student of IIM Raipur and I’m a fresher. Getting admission into the college was itself a big challenge to me. I’m including this as my challenge story as getting into an IIM was not possible for me, as my personality and skills would not suffice to get me admitted here. Being an introvert, weak in studies and extra curriculars, could be the words that can be used to describe me. One of the strengths that helped me to attain where I am is my analytical skills, fast learning ability and person skill. Person skills helped me to understand the competitive situation around me and how to improve myself to cope up with the highly competitive world around me. Being an introvert, stage fear was the one prominent drawback the prevented me to perform which I realized and started to overcome by taking part in various stage activities. Participated in various sports activities like, inter-school and inter-parish basketball, football, volleyball, badminton and skits and being the captain of the volleyball team helped me to achieve social and leadership skills. Winning in these activities helped me boost my confidence and change my attitude towards the things that I’ve thought was impossible for me. Winning several competitions made me instill a positive attitude that nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself. This made me to believe that I could get into an IIM even after being academically weak and having an environment where I was exposed to several distractions that had always been leading me away from studies.
