While walking back to my dorm after the end of my classes from the academic block of my college, I begin to think about how has Aditya Birla group a big part of my life. I was looking around me to list all the things that I have been using produced by the conglomerate, as it turns out, not just me but the whole nation is dependent upon ABG. Right from making the cement & concrete for the building we live in, copper for our railways, aluminum for our smartphones, telecom and from what most of us know the brand - fashion apparel chain. Their essence is obvious in the everyday life of a huge portion of the Indian masses. Their job in the regularly changing view of Indian urban communities isn't noticeable yet ever-present.
How Have You Made An Impact?
I had an opportunity to run B2B sales from home when during my undergrad. I was more than enthusiastic about it, however, there were many unforeseen problems in the way that needs immediate action and with the limited available resources. I decided to seek mentors to help me with the same. After a quick google search, I was able to find an organization that was in the same business. I saw this as an opportunity and thought of giving it my best shot. I learned the concept of vertical integration and found volunteers from my college to go ahead with the project in order to overcome the resource constraints. I prepared a proposal with a detailed 1-year plan of the project and set up a meeting with the organization to guide us on the project further. Hence, I was able to schedule the meeting, wore my favorite Van Heusen shirt which gave me the confidence I needed along with the enduring passion for work & leadership. The organization was able to recognize my entrepreneurial spirit and the passion to work hard, they agreed to mentor me on the project and we were able to achieve our targets.
