How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
During my school days, I was socially awkward and was very low on confidence. Over a period of time, I came to realize that until and unless I build up on my confidence, I would be missing out on many opportunities in life. I used to be fairly good in academics and sports but never had the courage to participate in any of the competitions during my school days.
During my diploma college days, I took it upon myself to improve my confidence. I began to take part in various competitions. The college environment and the motivation from my teachers and friends also played a huge part in helping me take the first step. I took part in a couple of intra college paper presentation competitions. Won some, lost some but taking part in those competitions helped me understand that I am in no way inferior to any other participants. Later I started taking part in inter college competitions. Over a period of time, I realized that diligence and through preparation are the only things required to win these competitions.
Along with paper presentation, I participated in many project competitions at inter college level. One of my project group mates was very keen on taking part in all project competitions. It was because of him that I was able to take part and learn from these competitions.
I had also participated in few sports competitions and extracurricular events such as drama. In the end, I was given the best student award. But the overall experience helped me realize my self-worth and gain more confidence in myself.
