Reminiscing the childhood days when my hometown ,Indore city got its first mall. Entire residents of the city flooded the mall floor. As a child of 12 years age, seeing shops with shiny packaging and products in different assortments omnipresent everywhere was picturesque. I remember how me and my sister used to go gaga in the departmental stores. Filling up the trolley in Big Bazaar with all the food items and clothes till we get exhausted was our ultimate goal. We would then be asked to reduce some of the items, which was difficult task, given the leverage of childhood and the availability of multitude of grocery items. There were other shops available but the convinience and variety was still significant. More and easy day were opened in major areas of the city which made many things accessible and the onus of responsibility of purchasing monthly grocery gradually fell upon us. The purchasing process was easy even for a child. This is why I consider ABG to be big in my life. It taught me independent and reliant decision making right from the childhood.
During my Internship, given that I was not staying in my hometown I had to make a lot of changes in my life style, since this was the first time I was living on my own. The challenge was to prioritize things to save money and time.Going back home for a vacation or partying on weekends or even travelling In the city of Mumbai costs you a lot. As a first working experience you realize the significance of money and time.You can not have it all like you used to, when living with your parents.You have to prioritize the things and your investement of both time and money. You have to sacrifice some things for few better things.In the long I realized that sometimes when you sacrifice something , theirs something more precious waiting for you in the long run. It is simply a trade-off which you are making to achieve something bigger in the long run. It is a tradeoff made for the long run success. The 4-40 rule applied even in day to day decisions. Where you invest your time and money today will determine the coming 40 years of your life. This is learning I intend to keep with me and achieve my goals by making wise choices.#ABGwoo#IIMRohtak
