Why Aditya Birla is big in your life?
My earliest memories related to ABG goes back to Shopping in Pantaloons. Pantaloons is what comes to my mind whenever there is an event in my life, and I have seen all generations of all families shopping there ritually. I personally love Pantaloons because it encompasses all styles with appropriate prices, giving casual, chic to corporate look. One visits any shopping mall, it will display any one of the ABG linen brands: People, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Linen Club or People. Any festival or occasion happens and a myriad number of people come to shop in such great numbers every time. I trust and love the brand completely. Just as the brands, the clothes too, portray commitment and passion when one gifts to someone and also for the person who wears one. Now, one goes to any mall, there is
Liva; I find the fabric so soft and exquisite to be worn anytime for any weather.
Bigbazar has been a preferred choice for everyone for years. Though MORE is not there with ABG now, this one time when I visited a MORE Supermarket in Vishakhapatnam and followed by visits to Pune, Hyderabad, Belgaum that my experiences got better and smoother when I shopped in More outlets. From adding raw vegetables to the checkout counter, the process was fluid. Additionally, they were available in places where people did not have very good access to vegetables, foodgrains, Personal care and home care products. The quality was top notched every time just as their motto.
They say that changing your perspective changes your experience. My experience with ABG products has given me a new definition of what good should be. For as long as I can remember, all of my school lunches were packed in Freshwrapp and Superwrappp foils. There is no doubt that it was my Mother’s preferred choice and still after 20yrs, her opinion has not changed. Until I started working in ABG, I didn’t know that Hindalco aluminum is not just used in foils, but also in pharma packaging, aircraft components and many more. For me, the most fascinating thing about ABG is the sheer size of an impact it has created by touching my life in everything I do. I went to Dudhsagar Falls, Goa and I met a family who connected to ABG through Freshwrapp, I felt that pride and gratitude that they were so happy with the product.
ABG definitely brings the
BIG in your life in small moments. The company has striven from the time of independence and inspired me to give my best in every moment in my life. The connection you develop with the brand from your childhood stays on as the brand strives harder with each passing year to deliver the sublimate, Gratifying and inclusive experience customer expects.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
Every challenge brings the best of you, as one tries their best to survive the storm. I was aged 9 years when I was sent off to a boarding school for one, that I would develop better there and two that My parents were finding it difficult raise me and my sister at that phase of time. It was hard leaving home, mom’s food, the care, and the stories narrated to her after school. Mostly, parting with everyone you know from grandparents to friends and settling 2000 miles away, making a new family altogether seemed overwhelming at that moment. After joining the school, I felt homesickness and lonely time to time. I could not adjust to the food and I ended up in the hospital several times. The school was built in such a beautiful scenic place with lush greenery and steep mountains, where one dreamt of holidays just like in Stories of Malory Towers & Nancy Drew. With years passing by, I adjusted eventually and ended up making friends for a lifetime across India in 8 years. There were days without water, or electricity and thundering nights, but we all worked together to support our class which turned to be my second family. It gave me a platform for all my aspirations. The discipline that got into my system to the memories I made, my alma mater gave a lot to what I am today. It prepared me for the real-life war with all its sweet and sour rolls on the way.
Further, Class 12th and preparation to get into engineering was not easy. There were days I could barely sleep thinking I just hoped to stand to my parents’ expectations. I could never say that I think I will give up, this is too much them. But, I never gave up. With time I started pushing back my fears and I knew I have to sail through this. I was determined that my time will come. There was a saying which stuck with me “The fruits of labor are sweeter than the gifts of fortune”.
Completing, my class 12th, finally ended up in a prestigious engineering college which is still an aspiration for a lot of students. The college provided me a platform to render my development, from athletics to dance. The industrial visits in vacations were not encouraging as everyone mentioned the fact that they don’t have women working in their plants. There was a lot of ambiguity in the final year as to if one should join manufacturing, but I was clear that I would work in my core field of Chemical Engineering. The time management definitely was a challenge, but I graduated from with the tag “Moti Ke Lal” and a job, that again created a different life journey altogether.
It was not easy altogether to adjust to the surroundings. There were times when people said, there are no women here, you can’t eat here, etc. But all in all, my life in manufacturing led me to think in different ways. It was not untroubled life altogether. There were times of substantiation, rigor, hastiness and despair. Yet, I passed everything because of some amazing mentors I met down the lane, and colleagues who kept pushing me to make me realize my ultimate purpose in life. Now Finally, I am in TISS, a dream I worked for every day after I understood what I want to do in life, which has made so humble now. Everything from my childhood has finally made sense now. What is amazing, ABG’s part made a mark all along the way.
