Aditya Birla Group is one of those Industrial conglomerates which stand for leadership, innovation, courage and facing challenges head-on. The group has significantly transformed itself in response to the new digital age and is constantly building bigger & better brands to stand out from the competition. Their journey is filled with unexpected challenges, hard-fought defeats and decade long milestones. In many ways, the group seems like a human, like a friend of mine who is bighearted, determined and always rises up after every fall. And that is the reason, why I associate myself with the Aditya Birla Group. I have had my fair share of struggles in my life and encountered a challenge which was a whole lot bigger than me when I ventured out of my comfort zone for the first time.
After completing my graduation, coming out fresh from the college I was filled with uncertainty and doubt. I didn’t know where to go and the opportunities at my hand didn’t seem the right fit for me. So, I took a leap of faith and steered my life towards the world of music. I used to follow the Electronic Dance Music movement religiously and wanted to learn the art of DJing. Never been away from home before, I came to Delhi with no plan in hand but with determination in my mind and hope in my heart. I used to spend 6 hours daily apart from my job to commute from my workplace, then to DJ classes and then back to my apartment. I drew inspiration from some of the world’s most famous DJs during these testing times and learned that hard things can be achieved with tireless devotion and sheer persistence. After learning how to DJ, I started visiting clubs to market myself and contacted other people in the industry to enquire about events or shows where I could perform. It took some time and a lot of sweat but I was able to find my first opportunity in one of the clubs in Gurgaon, and after that moment there was no turning back and this experience became a crucial part of my life before I started my MBA.
How is ABG big in my life?
During all this time, ABG’s presence in my life only increased. Long distances were cut short to a few seconds thanks to Vodafone Idea. When my wardrobe couldn’t deliver me anything special for the Ladies Night at the club, Pantaloons came to the rescue with every imaginable option. When I needed to look professional, Van Heusen and Louis Philippe made sure that I always look presentable. To this day, whenever I step out with my buddies, the semi-formal look of Allen Solly is always the preferred option. And right now while writing this piece, I am sitting under the roof strengthened by UltraTech Cement.
It is my dream to work in Aditya Birla Group because of the people, the deep-rooted culture infused with core values and the freedom to pursue your own path. For me Aditya Birla Group isn’t just a company, it is a world in itself.
