But first let's answer the obvious question: Why is the place called Hell?
So, L was the 4th IIM to be established. At that time, A was known for marketing, B for policy research and economics while C for statistics and finance. To give it the competitive edge, the then professors and directors chose a rigorous academic regime. A regime full of so many quizzes, assignments and presentations that by the end of 2 years, you reach the pace of preparing a slide every minute.
Routine of a B-school student:
The only routine is the fixed time-table and academic calendar. But you will never know how you will be spending the rest of your time. You may be binge watching (Just Kidding), preparing for a surprise quiz within 10 minutes, going out to the city for club/committee work or sangharshing...
About professors:
The professors are the strictest ones you will find in the classrooms but meet them outside and they are the sweetest. (Hypothesis has been tested with a large enough sample size)
Hostel Life:
Some form of life will be found awake at all times fueled by the life line which is the night mess. The general mood can be sensed by the kind of music blazing on speakers at that time.
Popular hang-out places:
1. Library & Computer Center
2. Fauji & Amul (When they were still open)
3. Gupta Ji
4. Gossip & Bite, Not Just Tea
(Ranking has been given on purpose)
Social life:
Networking is the buzz word heard a lot during the initial few days. After that, you realise it's just a passé.
