The FMS forum hosted Mr. Rajkumar Hirani for its WOW lecture series, held on 13th Feb 2021. In the conversation held by Mr. Parigi, the president of the FMS forum, Mr. Hirani covered a wide range of topics from humanity to movies to success. The event was flagged off by an address from professor Vivek Suneja, dean of FMS.
Mr. Parigi kickstarted the conversation with Mr. Hirani by talking about the Chaplin statue in his office. Mr. Hirani spoke about how he wanted people to enter his office with a smile. With the world spending an entire year in social distancing, questions about how he spent his days in lockdown were inevitable. His answer was rather surprising; unlike most people, he was not frustrated with the lockdown. He spent his days in two T-shirts and shorts while having home-food all day & leading a healthy life.
When quizzed about how Munnabhai & Circuit would have fared during the current pandemic, he joked about how they would have landed themselves in jail because of "Jaddu ki Jhappi".
Mr. Hirani then talked about Geet Sethi and how just passion is not enough but you need obsession. He continued by saying that people are the biggest force that gives you energy. He discussed how his movies are inspired by real people. He stressed the need of committing yourself to your work without worrying about the outcome. You should keep persisting while doing what you love.
