XIM Bhubaneswar conducted the Annual Marketing Conclave: MERCATIQUE 2022, hosted by MAXIM - The Marketing Committee of XIM. This year the theme was "Driving Growth in the era of New Age Customers." The event was hosted on 11 September 2022 and was graced by the presence of Mr. Sriram Gopalaswamy, Sr VP, Ecommerce, Welspun Group; Mr. Sameer Jain, VP & Head, D2C Ecommerce, Max Life Insurance Company; Mr. Tribikram Mishra, Vice President, Myntra and our fourth speaker, who shared their valuable insights with the audience. The session commenced with the planting of saplings, followed by an introduction by our moderator for the day, Prof. Krishna Das Gupta, Professor, Marketing, Ph.D. (Marketing). Professor Krishna presented the topic, "Post-pandemic is truly a new age and a new customer." The first speaker of the day, Mr. Sriram Gopalaswamy, Sr VP E-Commerce, Welspun Group, spoke on the topic "Cross Border E-Commerce" and how the Indian Government is looking to promote exports. Mr. Sriram mentioned, "Have the option to keep the product on the physical shelf and then give him an option to buy that online." The day's second speaker was Mr. Sameer Jain, VP & Head D2C E-Commerce, Max Life Insurance, where he talked about "D2C Business - The Dark Horse in Life Insurance". He expressed that people, process and structure are always more important than data and technology. Mr. Sameer also stated, "Shoppers are now okay with shopping directly from brands’ own websites, and do not want to be dependent on intermediate channels. This shows how much consumers have changed.” The session was further continued by the third speaker of the day, Mr. Tribikram Mishra, Vice president at Myntra, who shared his insights on "D2C and Omnichannel transforming retail". He put forward the point, "When you are closer to the consumer, you see a lot of information coming back and impacting your decision-making." The final talk of the conclave was a session on "Discovery Commerce”. After the talk by the eminent speakers was the much-awaited launch of MaxEdge Magazine by MAXIM, the annual marketing magazine of XIM Bhubaneswar, immediately followed by the announcement of winners of Pitch Please, an event to pitch real-world solutions for real-life problems. The summit concluded with an ending note and a vote of thanks from Sukumar Krishnan, the MAXIM co-ordinator.
