On the very first batch meet our batch was addressed by our General Secretary and he said and I Quote, “Sleep is a luxury you cannot afford at XIMB”. XIMB never sleeps, if one steps out of their room even at 3:00 AM from their room they would be able to see students having a chat and discussing various aspects of a business school, be it their assignments, upcoming assignments or just having a conversation about their future plans. But that’s not what I think is unique, what actually makes our campus unique is the fact that these late night conversations are not just restricted to batch mates but also include conversations between seniors and juniors. Yes, what makes XIMB unique is the bond that the seniors and juniors share.
The college has a tradition of Roll Seniors and room seniors i.e. senior who shares common roll number and a senior who was in your room before you respectively. One the very first day the first tasks we were given were to actually go and talk with them so they can be our senior mentors, our point of contact, our guide and guardian till the time we become familiar with our campus and the way of life at XIMB. Talking about the way of life at XIMB, one could take a good guess by my opening lines that the life is challenging but at the same time, it prepares you for the corporate world and the life ahead.
So the fact that seniors share such a strong bond with juniors and that the campus never sleeps is what according to me makes my college, XIMB unique.
Which ABG company would I want to work for and why?
Numbers excite me and I really like to work with them especially when they can tell the financial health of a company and what amazes me is the fact that just a few sheets of paper can tell the story of a company. Since class 11
th when I was first introduced to accounts it became my favourite and after that I decided that I wanted to pursue an education in management so the logical step was an undergraduate in management with a specialisation in Finance after which I am currently pursuing Post graduation in management hence it is logical for me to work for Birla Sun Life Insurance Company Limited.
