After I filled up the form of CAT 2018, the first question I asked to myself, how to select a college. Google helped extensively in answering this question and I had a list of colleges like XLRI, XIMB, IMT, IMI and a few others. I applied for four of them namely XLRI, XIMB, IMI and IMT and converted all three except XLRI. After that, it was very easy for me to choose one among them as others were no match to it.
Now the question is why
XIMB?
XIMB is an institute with
31 years excellence. It is a close-knit democratic family where almost every single decision is taken by students (apart from academics). Student executive council is one such committee which handles every single problem faced by students as well as organizes several events with the close coordination of other committees and their members. This kind of arrangement not only develops leadership skills in students but also it helps us working in groups, enhancing coordination among ourselves. This feature was a major attraction for me and that’s why I called XIMB an extended family.
The second best feature is
INFRASTRUCTURE. Though it is not a very large campus every single needed facility is available here. It’s a fully residential campus with round the clock electricity and water supply. It has a large playground, auditorium, basketball court, badminton court, facility to play tennis, table tennis, volleyball etc. It has a large gym and 24*7 ambulance facility. The library is well stocked and equipped. All hostels have a multipurpose room with facility to play indoor games.
Situated in the heart of the
TEMPLE CITY BHUBANESHWAR; it is close to the railway station as well as the airport. Night canteen is a blessing for us as it helps us in concentrating on studies by fulfilling our cravings even after midnight or early morning.
X-café is another such blessing which provides a variety of fast-foods even at midnight. With round the clock security, it a very safe campus.
How can I forget
XPRESSIONS, one of the largest management cultural festival? I always loved this kind of large energetic crowd and wonderful performance. Since it will be my first here in XIMB, I am waiting for it eagerly.
And the last reason which influenced me the most to join XIMB was its faculty. It has a pool of talents which are not only experienced and seasoned but also very helpful. My elder brother who is a gold medalist from the very same college told me that if you really want to learn to join XIMB.
It is said that MBA is not a study but experience and the experience I am having here is unparalleled. Though it has been just 2 weeks it seems like I know this place for very long. Here I feel a sense of belongingness. And I am very proud of my decision that I joined XIMB.
ABG (ADITYA BIRLA GROUP) Company I would like to work for and why?
I have done my graduation in Production engineering and I am planning to do my MBA with operations as my major. So logically I would like to work in a company where I can give my best with the knowledge I will have. The ABG Company I would like to work for is
HINDALCO INDUSTRIES LIMITED – a pioneer in aluminium industry which has now spread its wings to other sectors as well like metal (copper, gold, silver), agriculture (fertilizers, hydrates etc.).With time it has created a large product portfolio. It is a global leader in aluminium rolling.
A company as diversified as HINDALCO will not only enhance my knowledge but also will give me a firm base to start my career with. It is a company to dream of.
