I’ve lived in the city that is home to XIMB for most of my life. And XIMB has been here a lot longer than I have. In marketing, they say you have succeeded when your name becomes synonymous to a product category. XIMB is the pinnacle for management education in the city. So before I ever knew about management or IIMs for the matter, I knew about XIMB.
After graduating in the field of Mechanical Engineering and being offered a job in a data analytics firm that had nothing to do with whatever I had learnt in the last 4 years, I thought life would go down the beaten path. I sat for CAT and cleared the cut-offs for XIMB.
Growing up, XIMB had always been synonymous to “Xpressions”, one of the biggest fests in Eastern India. Now it was to be my Alma Mater? I decided to read up on articles regarding life in the campus. And to my sheer dismay every single article had something to say about 2 things. Rigorous curriculums and sleep deprived nights. That almost made me go back to the beaten path I had been cribbing about. I decided to give a parting glance at the XIMB website and looked up the alumni section. There was an almost unending list of names, some that jumped out at you and some that made you gasp at the mentioned achievements. Was this what the sleepless nights led to? Was this what the much vaunted rigorous curriculum turned you into?
That is when I decided to throw my hat into the ring. The results uncertain, the path difficult but with two things assured. Tenterhooks for two years and lessons for a lifetime.
ABG company I would like to work for:
I would like to be a part of Hindalco Industries limited because being a student of Mechanical Engineering I know the work that goes on behind the scenes in some detail. That would make it comparatively easier for to me understand the work flow as well as the underlying issues if any. And being in my element I think I’ll be able to give my best.
