Come the end of March 2018, it was time for another round of headache for B school aspirants who spent the last six months on a rollercoaster to arrive here. The process of becoming an MBA starts way before the start of the course. The aptitude of a candidate is tested earlier while writing the competitive exams and the communication skills are tested during the interview round. Another important stanchion to make a MBA career is decision making. This is brought to test when candidates have to make a choice from different B schools they secure admission into.
When I was stuck in this situation, I found it relatable to the person standing in front of a dining table and dishes present from different cultures. This was one of the factors while choosing XIMB for me, the culture, the X-Culture. XIMB is one of the few institutes where all the professors are PhD’s or are close to completing their PhD’s. There is no doubt you will learn a lot of what will be required to climb up the business ladder. Being a Jesuit institute, I learned that here they don’t develop managers, they develop people. And who doesn’t want to change for the better?
Apart from the academics, I was fascinated by the extra-curricular activities that XIMB is proud of. XIMB has 19 committees, catering to the interests of each and every student. XIMB looked like a place where there’ll be no time for “time-pass”.
I heard all about the campus and how it’s different from the rest, the beautiful green campus, the night mess and X-café.
Coming here now, I am happy I took up this decision. In the end it’s up to an individual what culture he wants to be a part of and what life he wants in those two years of MBA.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Capital Limited is counted as one of the best emerging financial players in India. . I am particularly inclined towards ABG Capital among ABG group of companies. I would like to develop knowledge and expertise in finance and like to work for a financial firm. It will be a challenging task for me and I would like to be corporate ready for this.
