Getting into a top B-School is everybody's dream these days, isn't it? Well, it was certainly mine. Academics has always been my strong point and is something I take pride in. Going through my graduation, all that anybody asked me was "So, what's the plan?", to which I would just subtly smile and say "Let's see". What they didn't realise was the impact this had on me as I had no clarity of my future plans. But well, this surely got me to do the thinking and after enough research, I realised an MBA was the course for me. I soon became determined to achieve my goals and started preparing two years in advance.
What I didn't realise was the fact that along with me I was also motivating my friends and my peers around me to take a calculative step towards their future. A lot of my friends asked me about my plans to achieve my goals, and I was more than happy to share my research with them. It not only helped them but there were various points which I too discovered about the process with these discussions. Studying in a well-known institute which did have its own rigour-academic and otherwise, we often found it extremely difficult to streamline our process and remain dedicated to our goal. There were times when we doubted if we could even do this. After a point of time, I realised I had started perceiving studying for CAT as a burden rather than something which was a stepping stone for my dreams. I had decided that I would keep myself and my friends around me motivated. Considering the fact that we had started well in advance we did have time as an advantage, I took the lead and started making a plan for all of us. Since we all had too much on our plate, and we were a group of dedicated MBA aspirants, I figured the whole process would get a lot easier if we tried to figure out what each person's strengths were and make a plan such that we could teach other a topic a day or even clear our doubts so things would seem easier and obviously more fun. It turned out to be good practice and soon became a regime for us. We not only discussed academics, but started debating on various current happenings in and around the world. I think this really helped in our holistic development as individuals.
"You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it." is something that I really believed in. What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language. Aditya Birla Groups provides people with various choices when it comes to choosing their style. I, in particular, believe that power dressing plays a role in my confidence level and brands like Allen Solly, Van Heusen helped me find it. Having crossed the first stepping stone towards MBA, I now need to prepare for the interviews for which it was these brands that helped me find my identity and my confidence. They helped me find the look that I wanted to show to the world for them to understand me better. Their simple yet powerful taglines like "My world, My way" and "Evolve Yourself" tend to create an impact on you. Its diverse products and brands show us the diversity that the company offers and teaches us how we as individuals too should be well diversified in the various tasks we do. Fast forward to where I am now, in a well-established top B-School I am proud of the choices I made.
