HOW HAVE YOU MADE AN IMPACT? During the second year of under graduation, we were told to create a project on business research and were given a sufficient number of days for it’s completion. I was too enthusiastic to conduct primary and secondary research and apply research tools and techniques I had learnt in the class. It was a week before the deadline and we were already done with the project (we were a team of four). A day before the deadline when I opened my laptop to get the printouts done, I was not able to retrieve the file. It got corrupted somehow and I had not even uploaded it on my email id. Everyone started blaming me and I got really upset. Well, sometimes, it’s not a single problem that come your way. After an hour or so, my grandmother got unwell (due to low blood pressure) and we had to rush her to the hospital. I was there at the hospital for the whole time and there was our project, pending for the next day. We had two options – either to submit it by the next day or submit it late but by losing 2 marks for each late day. I came back at around 1 A.M after she got a little better. Tension, anxiety and fear of the unknown tried to grab me from all over but I knew that if I gave up right at that time, I would be the one responsible for all that happened. You can’t control the past but you can control the future by changing your present. I made myself calm, forgetting everything else for a while and started the project from the beginning. Secondary thoughts came to my mind but I got the power to control them. It was impossible to make the entire project in a few hours so I focused on the things that mattered. I knew that in any project; research techniques, implementation and conclusion is much more important (so that the decisions can be taken) rather than the process, background and theoretical information. Thus, I focused more on that and made the project interesting through visuals showing the descriptive and technical analysis done using research tools. I woke up all night. The fact that not submitting the project would cost not only me but all of my team members gave me courage to complete the project in 6 hours. After a few days, we got really delighted to know that we scored 9/10 in the project. This was better than losing 2 marks and take a day extra for completion. The team mates who were earlier against me, appreciated my efforts. Well, I learnt how to make the best out of your present situation and win hearts. WHY ADITYA BIRLA GROUP IS BIG IN YOUR LIFE?
