We all have unknowingly ingrained the rich culture of the Birla group without someone explicitly telling it to us. I should be thankful to Aditya Birla group for making my life easy and convenient. I had been naively using products from Pantaloons, Idea, Peter England, Allen Solly since long only to realize later that all comes under Aditya Birla group.

April 2018, the return of Chennai super kings to IPL and what a way to start an IPL than the high voltage match between Mumbai Indians vs. Chennai Super Kings. The adrenaline was high, so my friends and I decided to take it to the ground. And the first ball I batted it was
Fourrrr!!!!!. No, It isn’t the Boundary I’m speaking about it was the 4
th time I had
dislocated my knee. The dreaded fear was back, and so was the agonizing pain, the only thing I could remember was I was being taken to Aditya Birla memorial hospital(ABMH) since it had a best in class MRI facility and Doctors. It was a level 3 tear of my Medial patellofemoral ligament. Doctors at ABMH informed me about the seriousness of the issue and how knee dislocation is scrapping my soft tissue, and I might have arthritis if I didn’t undergo MPFL reconstruction surgery. I didn’t want to go through the pain of Knee dislocation again nor did I want to be conservative about my life not enjoying it to fullest and being skeptical about knees always, so I decided to go for the surgery.
27th July 2018, The D day my parents over from Mumbai all concerned worried still doubtful whether I should proceed with the surgery, but I was prepared. My only concern was I had my CAT preparation going, and I didn’t want to break my rhythm because this was my last chance for MBA dreams. The stated 3 hrs surgery took around 6 hrs because of certain complications. To my greatest dismay, I got up between the operation to realize surgeon were drilling and hammering something to my leg only to shiver and complicate things. The surgery was successful, but the rehabilitation was cumbersome. I couldn’t feel or move my legs for over a week. I felt helpless not being able to move my leg on my wish, the effect of anesthesia was wearing off, and the pain was building in. It was unbearable, to say the least, the six stitches around the knee were raw and I could feel the thread stitched on flesh.
Three weeks after surgery, I was supposed to get my 30 degrees of freedom back, but I couldn’t bend a bit. Over to that, I was put on a high dose of anticonvulsant because every time my feet touches the ground, it gave me excruciating pain. High dose left me with no time than to recover my body from its side effect. Two Months down the line, I wasn’t still able to bend the knee, and I could sense physio treating my leg like a wood trying to bend it, which eventually started bending. Two months whizzed past crying because of helplessness and inability to do my daily activities but keeping my chin up and studying for CAT. I remember going to the CAT exam center with my knee braces on. Reaching the center one day prior so that I don’t suffer because of my immobilized knee because distance healthy people could walk in 5 minutes it took me like 20 minutes.
All’s well that end well I scored 95.78 percentile in CAT and almost converting all calls I received. I decided IIM Ranchi is where my destiny is. And the journey begins…
