‘You never fall until you stop pedaling’ I read this in a book when I was a child and since then I strongly live by this. I believe that you are not living life unless you face challenges. Even a yogi trying to renounce worldly pleasures also must overcome challenges. Such is life. My life too had a few. I was a child studying in 4th. I was a fairly bright kid although no topper at that. Every family has an uncle or an aunt who would try to put you down. I had one too. He commented that I am not bright and that I would probably be failing my classes. It doesn’t seem like a big deal now but for a 9-year-old kid it was pretty huge. I took it up as a challenge and I topped my class that year. The next was when I was prepping for my engineering entrance exams my dad lost his job and my mom had bouts of anxiety. Dad went for many interviews, but the market was slow. I still remember my dad had dropped me off for my entrance exam and he was in the compound giving phone interviews. At that time, I briefly thought if I should look for jobs, but I knew without a graduation I was barely employable. So, I did what I could – studied well and got into a good engineering college and shortly after my dad got a job too. Challenges are what make you. It’s good that we face them else we would never grow. Whenever there is a challenge I just remember not to stop pedaling. Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life When I think of Aditya Birla Group, one of the first brands that comes to my mind is that of UtraTech. I remember their advertisements about being the engineer’s choice long before I decided to become an engineer or a marketer for that matter. From that point onwards, I think consciously or subconsciously Aditya Birla has touched my life. When I received my first salary, I was extremely excited. I wanted to buy something for my parents. Pantaloons is the shop that I visited. Since then Pantaloons is my go to store for shopping. I always get a lot of variety and a great deal. Cooking is a huge part of who I am. A few years ago, when my mom was diagnosed with dengue, she had severe joint pain for almost a month. So, every morning I used to make lunch for my family and leave for office. But the lunch used to get cold and my mother used to not eat her whole lunch. That’s when I went to the store and got Superwrap and since then my food has always remained hot and fresh. Superwrap is always on my monthly shopping list. But Aditya Birla is so much more than the brands, it is a lot more for the people in rural areas. Aditya Birla is heavily involved in health care it sets up medical camps and works on polio immunization. They also make the physically challenged self-reliant by providing them artificial limbs. They also have set up Reverse Osmosis plants to provide drinking water. In line with the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan they have set up toilets. They also have multiple education initiatives across India. This also includes skilled training for sustainable livelihood. Leveraging its experience in infrastructure Aditya Birla Group has also helped build houses and are on the vision on creating model villages in India. Aditya Birla has not only touched my life in a big way but has also touched crores of lives. #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe
