How Aditya Birla Group is big in my life...
Aditya Birla Group is one of those Indian Conglomerates that I can think of have made it large in this competitive world. Along with making its mark in the business world, it has also managed to impact millions of lives in a positive manner. It is very difficult to catch hold of a common man in India who hasn’t used an Aditya Birla Group product ever in his life. In fact, I doubt if there would be any Indian who would not be using any Aditya Birla Group product on a daily basis.
Starting from the cement used to build my apartment building and the clothes I wear to all other daily necessities along with the technology I use in the form of IT or telecom Aditya Birla Group has a role to play in one way or the other. But one line of product that made a considerable impact on my life is Aditya Birla Capital. Post my B.Tech. as an employed citizen of India, it was mandatory for me to pay my taxes. Paying my taxes was not a problem for me. The problem was to save enough of my earnings to be able to achieve my goals, one of them being pursuing a degree in MBA from an IIM.
This is when the Aditya Birla Sun Life Tax Relief 96 – Growth Mutual Fund helped me realize the dream which I thought would not come true anytime soon. I was not only able to get a deduction on my taxable income but investing in a fund that performed considerably better than other funds in the same category allowed my hard-earned money to earn more money for me.
If it weren’t for Aditya Birla Capital Ltd., for an individual from a humble background like myself, being able to pursue MBA from IIM Raipur would have remained a distant dream.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far...
At the beginning of my 10th grade, my father (who was then the only earning member in the family then) lost his job as a Purchase Officer due to recession in the real estate sector. Although most of the challenges I faced during the 9-month long phase where my father remained unemployed were vicarious in nature, the unforeseen and abrupt changes in the circumstances at my home were distracting enough to bar me to fully concentrate on my academics.
Every morning I would see my father leaving the house in search for a job or gather money from somewhere so that he could ensure that my schooling does not get affected. As his only son, I felt compelled to work even harder and focus on my academics to make sure I do not let his efforts go in vain which frankly sometimes made me feel burdened with tremendous pressure. As the last thing I wanted, was to be deemed as a failure.
Despite the challenges, I learnt to stay positive as facing difficulties is inevitable in life but learning from the mistakes you previously made, adapting to the ever-changing situations around us (favourable or unfavourable) will help you get through the tough times with some ease and foresight. Thus, being able to learn from experiences of others has enabled me to stay ahead of my competitors in any difficult situation. As a result I have been able to achieve whatever I have set my eyes on in life so far.
