From Robotics to Management, how it became my passion to a motivation for becoming an entrepreneur
My journey to IIM can very well be called “Driven”.
Driven by my thoughts and aspirations, driven by the opportunities that helped me find that spark of a manager in me, driven by the people who showed me the path, driven by the hunger to succeed in CAT 2017 and eventually driven by the dream to be an entrepreneur.
So, it began at a time I didn’t even know it had started with the doubts and fears of a shy person going to a people’s domain. During the second year of my B tech managing hard between daily assignments and weekly sessionals I joined the GROBOTS (robotics) club of my college and through lab groups came in touch with a person who set the ball rolling for me. It was first when I actually met my passion “Robotics”. While managing robotic events as a Coordinator of College Technical Fest, I realized it was the first time I was being appreciated for managing things so well and its then I was asked “Why don’t you Go for MBA?” I thought hard because it felt like leaving my technical studies behind, all my putting science into innovation efforts behind. But then my dreams to have a startup in the field showed me the right path and in my Third year of B tech I went on to join T.I.M.E. Lucknow for CAT 2017 preparation. Something that kept me motivated was a tagline stuck in my mind, “An idea can change your life”, and I knew this was my way to make my passion my very own business by being an Entrepreneur.
Now the new challenge was managing the club activities, college curriculum that was barely supporting my need for preparation time and the preparation itself alongwith the Robotics and Innovation competitions I was participating in. I took the weekend batch. All this while I was still unaware of the actual transformation this phase was leading me to. The picture became a bit clearer when I saw the results of CAT and began preparing for the WAT PI process and was comparing myself to a person I was a year ago.
The change in outlook, perspective and willingness to make an effort was starkly evident. But, in an MBA your look defines your first impression and being a plump girl I knew formals suiting my size would not be available at the humble pricing my middle-class parents could afford and then Van Huesen and Pantaloons suddenly filled in all my expectations. Pantaloons is a store I always look forward to for best in class designs. It fills in me the confidence to look good and act smart.
Aditya Birla Group is the name I look up to when wishing for durability, reliability and trust and this is why my very own dream of building my own abode with the best of interiors would not be complete without Ultratech Cement which was used when my father built our “Home” and I say Home, not House because I know the sense of warmth and protection it gives me.
Aditya Birla Group has been enriching our lives and enhancing our lifestyle in ways you can never summarise or count in words. It’s been a part of life and shall always be.
